Social Knowbility was created by our founder, Rufeida in the midst of the COVID pandemic in 2021. It was inspired by her own work as the First Generation Network Officer, a position she held for two consecutive years during her time as an undergraduate student at King's College London university.
Prior to joining the first generation network during the Student Union Spring Elections, she didn't fully understand the feelings of imposter syndrome, unbelonging, and general challenges she was experiencing at university. After building the FG network from the ground up, she realised the importance of being in spaces with people from similar experiences and the strengths of grassroots communities as a space for sharing resources, supporting each other, and being creating spaces for collective healing. So, she wanted to create something bigger and better outside the boundaries of KCL so that more students can get together to form a national network to support and empower each other.
